DESERT BABY SIGNS

The Baby Signs® Program helps children develop both language and cognitive skills. Babies who sign are able to develop speech sooner and long-term studies show these early skills can translate into better grades.

The Parent Workshop is a one-time introductory class that teaches everything you need to know to get started with the Baby Signs® Program. You will learn:

• the history and research behind the Baby Signs® Program
• the benefits for you and your baby
• when to begin signing with your baby
• effective ways to teach signs at home and
• what to expect as your baby transitions from signs to speech

This class is geared towards adults and is recommended for expectant parents and parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 2 ½ years or children who have difficulty communicating. Early childhood educators, parent educators, speech therapists, social workers and health specialists are also welcome to attend.   Pre-registration is required.
